I don't think I will ever get used to calling her a toddler, or a kid...she will always be my little baby.
I remember, when we didn't have a baby around the house, it seemed like time went by slower and we took our time on anything but now that we have a baby, we went through so much with her, that it totally felt like we went on a roller coaster ride of ups and downs and there was never a slow moment in our 11 months of being together as a family.
So many new and exciting things happened in a short period of time.
Babys are fast moving humans and learn more in one year that we adults couldn't learn in 5 years.
It's crazy!
When I am home alone with Galilea I just sit there and stare at her playing with her toys and discovering new things with her hands and eyes, and smile of amazement because I can't believe that that is my little baby who, 5 or 6 months ago could barely sit up or grab at her toys.
And I think, I didn't show her to sit up, she just started doing it, and I didn't show her to start grabbing at toys, that just came to her naturally. It's all a joy to me to go back and realize all those little milestones she accomplished by herself. It's like its in every babys' blood, to start sitting up, and doing all those other things when they can.
I feel like a pediatrician talking this way, but its true! Its amazing.
Some new things that Galilea has started doing:
- Picky eater! She has a hard time eating the same things every morning, for example: bananas and oatmeal, or cereal and other fruits. I have to switch it up a lot.
- pulling herself up on all furniture and walking along side of it.
- she hands things to us when we say "damelo" which means "give it to me"
- she grabs my makeup brushes and starts brushing her face
- she loves dogs and any other animals with beady eyes.
- she takes off her socks and then places them on her foot again as if trying to put it back on
- she is back on the pacifier for security reasons; she has been, in fact, sleeping better with it.
- she loves to dance ( or move her body to the beat )
