Galilea is now 10 months old!

My little one is almost a toddler!

When you have a kid, you can totally see how fast time goes by.
They keep you on your toes ( or knees when you're going after them ).

That's right! Galilea has officially started crawling. She looks so cute and small when she's crawling; it's one
of those milestones you can't wait for your baby to hit because it means you won't have to carry them as often. They do get pretty heavy, especially for a skinny mama like me.

I wasn't expecting her to crawl from one day to the next. She was belly crawling (dragging herself) for about 3 weeks and then all of a sudden she realized she could use her knees to get to her destination faster and now she loves it.

Although she would much rather be walking because she's always pulling herself up on me and kicking her chunky legs. ( I just want to bite themmmm)

Here is a list of things she has learned/changed this past month:

  • Crawling, of course.
  • She recognizes her daddy. I say "Donde esta tu pa?" which is "Where is your dad?" and she looks for/at him. He just wants to shed a tear when that happens. :')
  •  Her babbling is getting a lot more serious now. She talks to herself and tries to sing songs, especially the ABC song.
  • She claps whenever she hears music or nods her head side to side while smiling. She reminds me of Rainman. LOL
  •  Her eating habits have changed. She eats less and plays more.
  • When she gets scared she puts her hands to her chest or the side of neck.
  • She likes to use my phone and will occasionally use the touch screen correctly by swiping her finger on it.
  • She has become very clingy! Could be teething? ( she has two bottom teeth )

Enjoy these photos & videos :)

Close-ups

One of my favorite thing to photograph are close-ups of peoples' faces.

And I know a lot of people are uncomfortable with that but they seem to be okay with that when I photograph them.

I ask the majority of them if they would like some photoshop done to their face ( not because I think they're ugly or not, but because they might want to remove unwanted stuff) . I know I'd want a little bit of photoshop on my face to remove those imperfections.

I guess I like photographing close-ups because of the eye contact and like the saying goes, a picture says a 1000 words. A persons face says everything and shows they're emotion perfectly. I prefer close-ups over scenery shots, because people are always more attracted to faces rather than landscapes, although scenery is pretty nice too.

Below are my favorite close-ups. I'm sure I could find more; I have a photo gallery of 2000+ images on my computer! But my little Galilea is about to wake up from her 2 hour nap and I need to attend to her.

I will be updating my blog more often with more photographs of my daily life. I promise.
